We have been using Mushroom Compost for approximately 12 years. We first came across this product after the local supplier tipped a ute load over some forty metres long over several rows where we were about to grow our next crop of strawberries, when it came to harvest we were perplexed as to why these several rows were producing 200-300 % more fruit and the plants were much more healthier than all other areas, after some investigation I realised that was where the compost had been placed and I had not noted exactly where. From that day we have always used the mushroom compost.
During the drought we found it difficult to obtain and quite expensive so we reverted to the cow manure which in turn decreased our production and plant health suffered immensely.
Lesson learned we will return to mushroom compost from now on.
